Join ITP and Lori Hand, Public Sector Leader, Global Business Services, IBM New Zealand where she’ll be sharing global research on the future of work and discussing the challenges and opportunities this dynamic time presents.

With the emergence of disrupting technologies, new jobs and skills will inevitably be required, affecting all of us. Historical events, globalisation and advances and challenges in technology will allow for cultural developments, as well as changes in the construction of our communities and our perspectives on technology.

Businesses must be vigilant to inevitable shifts in employee demands and adapt. In order to prosper and accelerate our businesses and inspire employees, we must understand these changes, or be disrupted by them.

About the speaker: Lori Hand

Lori leads the GBS Public Sector for IBM New Zealand, bringing her extensive government experience from North America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. Her career as a consultant and leader has been centred on delivering organisational strategy, data-driven solutions to citizen issues, and multi-million-dollar transformations across multiple Government Departments, social services organisations, universities, and health care clients. She has leveraged her expertise in complex ICT delivery, data analytics and organisational governance to unite disparate stakeholders, deliver complex IT systems, achieve meaningful, long-lasting government-wide frameworks, metrics targets, and improve government service delivery and citizen-focused solutions. She has led the turnaround of troubled delivery programs of work for major clients and developed performance improvement programs and outcomes-based strategies for government agencies.

Her current passion creating human-centred cognitive and analytics solutions and some of her recent work has made it easier for families to get health care for their children, for businesses to register with their tax and revenue organisation, and to support wounded warriors returning from active duty military service with cognitive impairments including TBI and PTSD.

An admitted “statistics geek”, Lori taught for four years as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She lives in Wellington, New Zealand with her husband and three happy, active children.
