CULTURAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT

Prepared by Buddy Mikaere for the Ngai Tamarawāho Environmental Unit

Why is this the absolutely right site for the Tauranga Museum? It’s all about history, culture and the connection with people who have lived on and around the site for hundreds of years.

It’s a story of drama, tragedy and the importance of Turangawaewae Buddy Mikaere’s cultural impact assessment for Ngai Tamawaraho, one of the hapu holding Mana whenua for the site tells the story well and should answer questions about why this site is so important and so appropriate.
