Professor Lori Hand with her topic Ageing Gracefully in the Era of Artificial Intelligence will discuss the opportunities for living longer in the context of a digital world at the leading edge Symposium to be held at the Mount Club Mt Maunganui on October 15th 2018.

Lori Hand, GBS Public Sector Leader, IBM New Zealand, Ltd.

Lori leads the Global Business Services, Public Sector business for IBM New Zealand, bringing her extensive government experience from North America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Through both her personal journey and through IBM Research, Lori is deeply connected to the public and societal impacts of older adults being treated as an invisible population.

Her current passion is creating human-centred technology solutions that use artificial intelligence, analytics and the Internet of Things to help people live more fulfilling lives.

Lori plans to address current issues related to living longer. She explains, “For generations, older adults have struggled with the balance between independence and security. In the modern era of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, we can tip the scale in favour of more independent living and greater options for safely aging in place“.
